Atlantis Found? Giant Sphinxes, Pyramids In Bermuda Triangle? (from around the Blogs)

Another nice & interesting read from around:

June 17, 2013 - Two scientists, Paul Weinzweig and Pauline Zalitzki, working off the coast of Cuba and using a robot submersible, have confirmed that a gigantic city exists at the bottom of the ocean. The site of the ancient city — that includes several sphinxes and at least four giant pyramids plus other structures — amazingly sits within the boundries of the fabled Bermuda Triangle.

According to a report by Arclein of Terra Forming Terra, Cuban Subsea Pyramid Complex, the evidence points to the city being simultaneously inundated with rising waters and the land sinking into the sea. This correlates exactly with the Atlantis legend.

Intention

Intention is the purpose or attitude toward the effect of one’s action or conduct. It is the underlying reason or purpose why you take a specific action or behavioural stance.

From Wikipedia:
Intention is an agent’s specific purpose in performing an action or series of actions, the end or goal that is aimed at. Outcomes that are unanticipated or unforeseen are known as unintended consequences. Intentional behaviour can also be just thoughtful and deliberate goal-directedness.

Before we take any action, we first have the intention to create a specific outcome. Sometimes two persons with different intentions can perform the same actions and obtain completely different results. Therefore our intention does play a major role in determining the outcome of our actions. This is why sometimes, when we attempt to imitate someone’s actions and achievement without first knowing and understanding his/her underlying intention, we end up not getting the same results. We end up not attracting the right people to aid us or the path does not seem quite as smooth. In such a circumstance, it is highly possible that our intention just does not jive with the sequence of actions that we have chosen to imitate to achieve that desired result.

Know that the universe always provides. It never fails. As you ask, so shall you receive. However, the key here is not to be fixated onto a particular course of action just because someone else has done it. You do not know that person’s underlying intention. Therefore all you need to do, is in fact intend and that let things flow. Perhaps a better way to describe this would be to hold a “preference” J

As beings of light, created in the likeness of God, you create your future with the power of your intention. Intention is simply the conscious act of determining your future now. Health, harmony in relationships, happiness, money, creativity, and love will come to you in the future, based on your intentions now. Therefore, intend every day and create your future life.

For Example:
Most people think to ask for health only when they don't have it, but you can intend great health at any time. Use the power of your intention every single day and see yourself healthy and well. Intend health for you and intend health for others.

Every time you get into a car, remember to take a couple of seconds and see yourself arriving at your destination happy and well. No matter what the trip is you are taking or the type of transportation you are using, use the power of the Universe through your intention and create a beautiful, safe journey.

So, have you set your intention for the day today, or are you going to let today be governed by the thoughts of yesterday? Here are some words to help you get started.
All Good is coming to me today.
All my desires will be met today.
Magic and miracles will follow me everywhere today.
Have the best day ever!

Master Believing

There is a magician who has offered to pay USD 1 million to anyone who can demonstrate that psychic phenomenon is real. I believe he will never have to pay up not because a psychic phenomenon does not exist but rather because in his reality, it does not. If we believe something does not exist to the point of extreme denial of its existence, no amount of proof by Russian scientists will ever convince you that it is real. What we don’t want to see doesn’t exist for us, and unless something comes along to sufficiently shake our belief, we go on living on a flat earth, so to speak. By the way, there really is an actual group called the Flat Earth Society that still believes the Earth is flat!

We all know of people whom are so fixated in their belief system that no amount of proof and convincing will ever turn them from their beliefs. It is like even if God comes down to tell them they are wrong, they will retort and say God is wrong. They will not see beyond their tunnel vision and have closed minds. This is what fanatics are made of. They believe in achieving martyrdom through suicide bombing etc. Such is the negative aspect of believing.

However the reverse of this negative aspect of belief is also true. And this is where the power of belief is also apparent. We can use this to our advantage by mastering believing.

To master believing, all you have to do is tip the balance of your thoughts, words, and actions, from "not believing" that you can achieve something to believing that you can. The ONLY thing that can ever get in the way of manifesting what you want is having more thoughts of "not believing," speaking more words of "not believing," and taking more actions of "not believing," than you are of believing.

In fact when we are “not believing” that we can, we are actually “believing” that we can’t. Therefore, base the majority of your thoughts, words, and actions in believing that you can, and the law of attraction must obey you.

Watch Your Thoughts

What are you thinking when you open your curtains in the morning and when you close them at night? What are you thinking when you first put your shoes on and when you take them off at the end of the day? You don’t remember don’t you. That’s normal. Most of us are not aware of our thoughts and hence our minds play games with us. While we are driving to work, our thoughts drift to events that have taken place yesterday or further in the past. And before we know it, we have arrived in the office and seated down on our chair at our workstation. There are instances where people have resigned company A to join company B located at different locations in the city and because their thoughts float as they drive to work, they end up at the front door of company A and they wonder why their access cards can’t open the door. And then it hits them that they have resigned and are supposed to be reporting to company B at the other side of town.

Most of us just do not have any control over our thoughts. While I am not suggesting that we attempt to rigidly control it, I do suggest that we be mindful of it and watch our thoughts instead of letting it wander. By doing that, we can then start to choose what type of thought we would allow in and what not.

You see... thoughts have energy hence some esoteric schools actually refer to our thoughts as thought forms. It is a creation of our mind and every thought form that we create is an entity by itself. And this entity can materialize into the physical form. Therefore collective as a human race, if we all think doom and gloom, that is what we will create in our physical world.

Napoleon Hill’s immortalised book “Think and Grow Rich” lists 13 steps how our thoughts can lead us to whatever we want. Where the mind goes, the body eventually follows. Hence if we keep our heads in the “dustbin”, the rest of our body (life) will eventually fall in. Esoteric schools even advice their students against thinking negative thoughts about others as that constitutes a psychic attack. And students of esoteric schools that involve manipulation of energies can be powerful magicians without their own knowledge. Their thought forms can even kill.

Fortunately positive thoughts are far more powerful than negative thoughts. What we need to do is retrain our minds such that we think only positive thoughts by default.

No-one can impact you with their negative thoughts if you are not on a negative frequency. You set your own frequency through your thoughts and feelings, and the better you feel the higher the positive frequency you are on, and the higher the thoughts you have access to. Negative thoughts of others cannot reach you there.

So coming back to the 1st paragraph of this post...What are you thinking when you open your curtains in the morning and when you close them at night? What are you thinking when you first put your shoes on and when you take them off at the end of the day? Use the power of the Universe during these four everyday actions, and say with all of your heart: "Thank you for the most incredible day!"

Mindfulness - The Now Moment

Most of us live in the past or the future. We live in past glory or fantasizing about a future that we desire. Our minds are so into our past and future that we forget to live in the present.

The past is hardened cement. It is cast in stone. We can change it anymore. It has come and gone and will no longer come back. So past glories are just that – past glories. It is not a yardstick to measure your future. In other words, just because one was a multi-millionaire 10 years ago does not mean that one would remain a multi-millionaire 10 years down the road. Fortunes change. And if it does change, hanging on to your past will not help you recoup what you have lost. I have heard of a friend’s friend who used to live luxuriously due to his booming family business 20 years ago. The father passed way leaving the business with the children. Everything was set nicely for them and they were rich. Then the 1987 crash came and affected their business. They lost everything. While some of the siblings have managed to recover and have moved on, one of them continually hung on to the past. Now, in 2012, almost 25 years later in his 50s, he needs to ask friends for money. If you are in your 50s, not born poor, and you can’t go to the ATM and withdraw two thousand dollars, you have got a real problem in your hands. If he had let go of the past and just focus on the reality of his situation then, I believe he would have easily recovered and perhaps achieved greater heights. There were many options that he could have taken: re-education, employment, entrepreneurship etc. But constant living in the past has resulted in inertia and just not doing anything.

Therefore it is very important that we realize that our lives do not happen in the past or the future. It happens NOW. As the clock ticks, the moment is gone. In Buddhism, Vipassana Meditation trains us to be mindful. Mindfulness can be seen as the practice of “being in the moment” – but what does this actually mean? Does it mean that if we’re mindful we should never think about the past or the future, never try to plan or to reflect on our past experience?

Actually, being in the moment means being mindfully aware of what is going on right here and now, in our experience, and this includes any thinking we do about the past or future. Much of the time our experience does not have this quality of awareness or mindfulness. A lot of the time we are like robots, automatically living out habitual patterns of self-pity, anger, wish fulfillment, fear, etc. These habitual tendencies take us over and run our lives for us – without our being able to stand back and decide whether this is what we actually want to be doing. It can be a real shock when we start to realize just how habitual and automatic our lives are.

By bringing our mind back to now moment, we re-connect with our power. The reason that "now" is where all of your power exists, is because "now" is the only time you can think new thoughts and feel new feelings. We cannot think thirty seconds from now, or feel something two hours ago. We can only think NOW. We can only feel NOW. And so this moment right now is your greatest point of power.

The rest of your life awaits you!

7 Days of Your Week

Decide that you are going to verbally express at least one thing of appreciation to every person you come in contact with today. The more people you see the better. Take notice of how you are feeling at the start of the day, and then take particular notice of how great you are feeling when the day has ended.

Name one day of the week as your appreciation day, and do this exact process on that day each week, without fail. And then watch what happens to your life!

DAY 1 - GOOD THOUGHTS DAY
Take the seven days of the week and change your entire life by powerfully using the law of attraction. Begin with just one day if you want, and make that day a habit for a few weeks before adding another day. Do what works best for you, as the most important thing is that you do it.
Today is Good Thoughts Day. Today and every week on this day, intend that you are going to think only good thoughts. Think good thoughts for you and think good thoughts for others. Refuse to give your attention to anything that will not produce good thoughts. Command and determine with all of your will at the beginning of the day that, "I have thought thousands of good thoughts today." On average, humans think well over 50,000 thoughts a day, so you have 50,000 opportunities to think good thoughts today.

DAY 2 - APPRECIATION DAY
Today is Appreciation Day. Every week on this day, is time to appreciate, appreciate, appreciate. Appreciate the weather, your clothes, transport, great inventions, your home, your food, your bed, your family, your work colleagues, the person who serves you, your health, your body, your eyes, your ears, and all of your senses. Especially appreciate the past great times in your life and the great times of the future. And finally, appreciate that every week on Appreciation Day you are creating an incredible life!

DAY 3 - GOOD DEEDS DAY
Today is Good Deeds Day. On this day every week, fill your account at the Bank of the Universe with good deeds. Give encouragement to those around you. Give kindness. Give good words to those you see and speak to. Give a bigger tip today. Give a gift for no reason. Open doors for others. Buy coffee or lunch for someone. Give compliments. Give your smile to everyone. Give your genuine interest to those who serve you in your day. Give your undivided attention to those close to you. Give kindness to other drivers. Give your seat, and stand so that others may sit. Look for opportunities to do good deeds and the law of attraction will flood your Good Deeds Day with an abundance of them.
As you give your all to Good Deeds Days, the Universe will respond, and it will become the best day of your week by far.

DAY 4 - THANK YOU DAY
Today is Thank You Day. Every week on this day, is your day to say and feel "Thank you" in as many ways as you can. Write a list of all the people and events you want to give thanks for. Return thanks today to those who have done things for you. As you walk say "Thank you" in your mind with each step you take. As you drive, make each time you stop your cue to say "Thank you." At various times in the day, think and feel "Thank you" inside you seven times in a row. Look for every opportunity to say "Thank you" to other people, and say it with so much meaning that the person looks right at you. Thank your way through this day each week, and make "Thank you" your predominant thought, feeling, and words of the day.
"Thank you"_ - two words, inconceivable potential power, and all they need is you to put the power into them by expressing them.
Thank you!

DAY 5 - GOOD FEELINGS DAY
Today is Good Feelings Day. Weekly on this day, harness and magnify all the good feelings within you.
Today as you move through the day, give all of your attention to how you are feeling. Keep filling yourself up with more good feelings and more good feelings. To fill yourself to overflowing with good feelings, fill your day with what makes you feel good. Listen to your favorite song. Buy your favorite lunch. See your favorite friend. Do the things you love and that make you feel so good that you are brimming over with good feelings and cannot take the smile off your face. You will be so overflowing with good feelings you will float through the whole day.

DAY 6 - LIGHTEN UP DAY
Today is Lighten Up Day. This day every week is your day to feel as free as a bird, to feel as free as you did when you were a child. Play! Have fun! This is the day to find your bliss and live it.
Do the things that make you feel wonderful. Do the things that make you laugh. Do the things that make you jump for joy. Dance, sing, skip, and whistle your way through the day. Celebrate your life today! As you play, laugh, smile, and have fun, you lighten up. When you have lightened up you have released negativity. The lighter you feel, the more negativity you have released. This is the day to Lighten Up!
Remember, life is a never-ending game and you will be playing the game for all of eternity.

DAY 7 - ALL GOOD DAY
Today is All Good Day. Every week on this day, take a moment to look back on the past week and remember all the good things. Look ahead into the next week and see all the good things.
Now you can rest because your creation is perfect and you are satisfied that it is All Good.

Is the Brain Really Necessary?

This is an amazing article. I can't find the original research. Perhaps someone can point me to it. I must admit, I find it hard to believe. Just look up hydrocephalus and John Lorber on wikipedia.

Aristotle taught that the brain exists merely to cool the blood and is not involved in the process of thinking.

This is true only of certain persons.
- Will Cuppy

This was the question asked by British neurologist John Lorber when he addressed a conference of pædiatricians in 1980.  Such a frivolous sounding question was sparked by case studies Lorber had been involved in since the mid-60s.  The case studies involve victims of an ailment known as hydrocephalus, more commonly known as water on the brain.  The condition results from an abnormal build up of cerebrospinal fluid and can cause severe retardation and death if not treated.
Two young children with hydrocephalus referred to Lorber presented with normal mental development for their age.  In both children, there was no evidence of a cerebral cortex.  One of the children died at age 3 months, the second at 12 months.  He was still following a normal development profile with the exception of the apparent lack of cerebral tissue shown by repeated medical testing.  An account of the children was published in Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology.
Later, a colleague at Sheffield University became aware of a young man with a larger than normal head.  He was referred to Lorber even though it had not caused him any difficulty.  Although the boy had an IQ of 126 and had a first class honours degree in mathematics, he had "virtually no brain".  A noninvasive measurement of radio density known as CAT scan showed the boy's skull was lined with a thin layer of brain cells to a millimeter in thickness.  The rest of his skull was filled with cerebrospinal fluid.  The young man continues a normal life with the exception of his knowledge that he has no brain.
Although anecdotal accounts may be found in medical literature, Lorber is the first to provide a systematic study of such cases.  He has documented over 600 scans of people with hydrocephalus and has broken them into four groups:
bulletthose with nearly normal brains
bulletthose with 50-70% of the cranium filled with cerebrospinal fluid
bulletthose with 70-90% of the cranium filled with cerebrospinal fluid
bulletand the most severe group with 95% of the cranial cavity filled with cerebrospinal fluid.

Of the last group, which comprised less than 10% of the study, half were profoundly retarded.  The remaining half had IQs greater than 100.  Skeptics have claimed that it was an error of interpretation of the scans themselves.  Lorber himself admits that reading a CAT scan can be tricky.  He also has said that he would not make such a claim without evidence.  In answer to attacks that he has not precisely quantified the amount of brain tissue missing, he added, "I can't say whether the mathematics student has a brain weighing 50 grams or 150 grams, but it is clear that it is nowhere near the normal 1.5 kilograms."
Many neurologists feel that this is a tribute to the brain's redundancy and its ability to reassign functions.  Others, however, are not so sure.  Patrick Wall, professor of anatomy at University College, London states "To talk of redundancy is a cop-out to get around something you don't understand."
Norman Geschwind, a neurologist at Boston's Beth Israel Hospital agrees: "Certainly the brain has a remarkable capacity for reassigning functions following trauma, but you can usually pick up some kind of deficit with the right tests, even after apparently full recovery."

Change

Change in a country begins with one person. Each country reflects the inner peace or turmoil of its mass population, and so as one person changes they affect the rest of the population. One person has the power within them to bring massive change to their country through immense love and peace within themselves. But you cannot bring about peace and well-being in your country unless you have conquered them in your own life. Do you see? You cannot give what you do not have. Each person's job is to bring utter harmony into their own life, and then they will become the greatest human gift for their country and the world.

We are intelligent enough to trade in an old car when it is not serving its purpose anymore. We hand over the old car and we take possession of a newer model and continue our journey in our new car.

The greater part of you is also intelligent enough to trade in the vehicle of your body when it is not serving its purpose anymore, update to a newer, better model, and continue on your journey in the new vehicle. Human bodies and cars are vehicles - and you are the eternal driver.
Energy cannot be created or destroyed - it just changes form.

Isn't it great to know that you cannot control your world from the outside? To try to control things on the outside feels impossible because it would take so much work, and in fact it is impossible according to the law of attraction. To change your world all you have to do is manage your thoughts and feelings on the inside of you, and then your whole world changes.

As you live in the power, the love, and the joy of your own being, you will uplift millions. Follow your own path. Follow your own truth. Follow your own heart. Follow your own inner bliss, and allow each person to follow theirs, whatever it may be. Look for the good in everyone and everything, and let your love and joy radiate out to the world every day.

The current state of our planet is just a mirror of humanity's minds en masse. The disharmony you see on our planet is a reflection of the disharmony inside human beings. The link between our planet and humanity is a connection that cannot be broken. The world will change and our planet will change as each human being changes inside. One human being inspires many others, and the many others inspire thousands, the thousands inspire millions, the millions inspire billions, and that is how we bring harmony to planet Earth.

The most beautiful thing of all is that every day in every situation we can see how we are doing. Our world and our life are continually giving us feedback on our field of energy, and when we have begun to create a new field of energy (through good thoughts and feelings), the changes that take place around us are nothing short of spectacular. It is worth every step and every effort, because there is nothing greater than to live in harmony with the Universe.

No-one is destined to live a life of poverty, because each of us has the ability to change everything in this life. The law of attraction is the law of creation, and it allows each person to create the life they want. Every person has their own unique circumstances to overcome, but every single person has the opportunity to achieve anything - and change everything.

Every good thought you think, every good word you speak, every good emotion you feel, and every act of kindness you perform, is lifting the frequency of your being to new heights. And as you begin to raise your frequency, a new life and a new world will reveal themselves to you. You will emit positive forces of energy across planet Earth that will reach every single living thing on it. You will lift yourself, and as you lift yourself, you lift the entire world.

Advice when asked and given but not taken (updated)

Do we? I'm not so sure...

Granted, if we never asked for advice, we may not like it, nor would we accept it when some smarty two shoes busy body gives us some unsolicited advice. I mean, who're you? I never asked for your opinion. So shut the f%$# up and mind your own business! Familiar?

But what if we actually did ask for advice. We actually actively went to seek others for advice. Would we accept the advice when it is given? Especially if it is not to our taste.. Hmmm... I think, as human beings, we may not accept it. Or we may accept it but do nothing about it. Sound familiar?

But what's the point then for seeking advice when we are not going to heed the advice? I'm sure we all know people who were in some sort of fix and they came to you for advice and you helped them in a whatever way you can. After some long session through coffee or tea perhaps, you thought you have gotten through to them and they seem to have "seen the light". Then come a few weeks or months later, you found out that they didn't act on it at all. At first you thought they have found another way to solve their problem. And that is fine, after all, there are more than one ways to solve a problem. Then you realize they not only still have that problem, they didn't do anything at all to solve that problem. On top of it all, they are still complaining about the same problem! That would be like.. "You had a problem. You came to me for advice. I've shown you a way out (or several ways out). You said you will act on it. And then, you don't. Why? Because you were too busy? Helloooo?!"

In my opinion, such a person never had any problems in the first place. He/she was actually just looking for attention. An attention seeker as some would call it. A drama king or queen. Nothing more. In my book, it means, no more advices would be given. I will no longer entertain any request for help regarding the said matter. In fact, in future, on other matters, I may reserve my opinion as it would be a waste of my time and effort. The person's record shows that that person will not act on anything. So too bad..

Lets look at another scenario, say it really is a problem that the person really needed advice on. However, for whatever stupid reason the person didn't act on it after receiving the advice(s). Well, then if the problem gets worse, don't blame anyone else. People must understand something here. Nothing changes if nothing changes. We cannot expect a different result if we keep doing the same thing over and over again. The definition of insanity is expecting a different result doing the same thing repeatedly. So, if someone's problems persist because of non-action on their part despite receiving numerous advices, then, well... they asked for it.

But people will be people. And we all know people who had problems, asked for advice, got the advice, then slept on it and then blame others for it when the problem escalates. We can only look on at the ongoing drama and sigh. Just too bad.. you dug your own grave. Take responsibility of your own life for your own sake.

What do you want?

What a million dollar question...

Really.. What do YOU want?

Most people would answer "money" in a nifty. You ask them if they are sure, they stop a while, think a while and say "money" again. But I honestly doubt that is what they truly want.

In my opinion "money" is what their minds cook up as what they want. Probably as a defense mechanism of sorts to help them run away from some pain, event, shortcoming, something unfulfilled or an inadequacy that is buried in their subconscious. Which in return may have created belief systems in them that their problem lies in lack of money. Or "money" as a means to get away from it all. And as they move along in their daily lives, more events further strengthen that belief system until the real root of it is hidden so deep they don't even know its there. To make matters worse, their ego also adds to further strengthen those beliefs. (This is just my opinion and I may not have written the above to explain it very well)

Anyway, what they really truly want is hidden beneath all that and in my opinion, many people never find out what they really wanted until its too late. Spouse leaves them; or they still feel empty despite all the material successes; or they feel unfulfilled even on their death beds; or remorse at death bed etc.

So, I don't know. What do you think? More importantly, how do you get to know what you truly want? Is it like what career counselors, psychologist, doctors or other so called experts say that you have to "find meaning in what you do"; or "like your job"; or etc etc. Or worse, like what religious staunchies (sorry to say, especially christians) say that you have this feeling coz its your soul telling you that you have accept that "Christ is your saviour" la or better still, "you are a sinner". Sorry dude, I don't belief in bullshitting myself with what so called smarty two shoes PhD holder's (read as Permanent head Damage) advices. This is not some physical ailment nor psycho case. Neither do I subscribe to what does religious staunchies "blind-faithfully" preach. While I am not saying they are always wrong, I think sometimes we need to look deeper instead of academically (or mentally) reasoning it out or just pushing it all to "so-and-so is my savior".

And frankly, if you dig deep, you'll be amazed at what you discover. I know from my own personal experience, that what we thought we want and have actively been pursuing can be very different from what we actually wanted deep down inside. And sometimes reading a book may give insights into what we seek. Sometimes we think we are alone with certain feelings and thoughts. Reading a self help book or sharing your thoughts or feelings with people who will uplift you may reveal that you are not alone.

And this has happened twice in my life already. While I will not reveal both incidents, I'll just briefly mention one of it. In 2005, I attended a training on self awareness after two friends recommended it to me. I actually decided to attend that training not because of what the training say it can offer but because I liked what I see in one of my two friends. If it was up to the other friend, he would have "blown me out of the water". You can say that I joined for all the wrong reasons. However, one of the exercises in the was on discovering within ourselves, what we truly wanted. Well, for that exercise to work, you have to tell your brain to go to sleep otherwise it will interfere and for those who are strong minded (strong mental bodies), they would mental masturbated their way through that exercise "thinking" that they have found what they wanted. No. We had to put our brains to sleep. :-)

At the beginning of the exercise right through the midst of it, I thought I wanted success but what blurted out of my mouth was that I was looking for love. I was like, "WTF? Where did that come from?". I realized that what I really wanted was to settle down with someone whom I love, whom would love me, and together we can grow through thick and thin, mutually building on each other's strengths while complementing ear other's weaknesses. So it was through that one exercise that got me started on looking at settling down. And not just with anybody. I was quite clear on the kind of woman I was looking for. Well, to cut the long story short, I met my wife in the same training school (different class of course) and today we've got 3 beautiful kids.

So really, what DO you want? money? money can't buy you happiness. I'm not saying it's not important. It is important especially if you live in the city with inflation so high nowadays. But is that really it? Most of us get so caught up with our everyday lives that we do not even stop to question if the path that we are going down on everyday is leading you to where you want to be or if the path is the path that we want to be on.

Well, by asking the right questions, eventually you will find your answer. Even if you do not yet find what is it you want, you may first know what you do not want. And to me, that's a start. But please don't focus on what you do not want because that adds energy to it and brings more of it to you. Knowing what you do not want can be the first step but you need to then continue the search to find your passion.

Are We Really Lacking of Resources in the World?

At present the issue of conservation and lack of resources is becoming an important issue in the world. Everywhere we are looking at how to be more efficient in order to conserve resources, save the environment etc.

While saving the environment is a noble cause that we should all do, I am not so certain that the lack of resources should be a prime focus or reason. While I agree that we should become efficient to avoid wastage, the truth about our resources is that there is more than enough resources for all.

We have everything we need in this world to sustain ourselves as a race for many more decades as of right now. All the resources we will ever need is available right now. There is no lack of resources in this world. If we wanted, we can easily:- eradicate poverty; create jobs for everyone; eradicate famine; eradicate diseases; find all the resources we need, etc. the question is not if we have the resources, it's whether we have the will to make the necessary shift to achieve that. While I will not provide figures here, any of you can pursue this and do your own research. Your research will without fail lead you to the conclusion that we are actually in-efficiently mis-distributing our natural resources and that we actually have abundant resources for all. The evidence are all there screaming at us. It's a question of whether we have the will to make the necessary changes for a better future. Or do we buy the bullshit that industrial lobbyist sells to us.

One of the best examples is in the food industry. Again, I will not provide figures (I don't need to) and I'm sorry to say that you must either be living in denial or be blind if you can't figure this out yourself with a little simple research of your own. Great personalities like Anthony Robbins, hollywood stars, and the likes have been telling us that eating meat is an inefficient means to getting the energy and nutrients that our body needs. We actually burn more to get the energy from meat. So really, it doesn't make sense to continue taking a lot of meat. Even our physiological make up actually fits eating more veg and fruits.
What's the point in consuming something that is a net energy lost. While meat eaters will claim that they feel week if they don't take meat, that is actually their body's craving (or addiction to put it bluntly). All they need to do is get disciplined and once they overcome the initial craving phase, they will actually feel a whole lot healthier and energetic.

The amount of land used to plant grass for cattle is huge. One cow requires a huge land for grass as its food. That one cow we slaughter for its meat feeds how many people? Whereas if we use that same land area to plant vegetables and legumes, how many more people can we feed? A whole lot more that's for sure. Just do your own research and the obvious answer would scream at you. Well...humans being humans, we'll probably go "I like and want my meat". Well, you're one of the selfish causes in this planet that is creating the lack of resources issue.

Our governments and the respective agencies can easily educate people of this but unfortunately they lack the will (or is it due to lobbying but meat industrialist?). As a result of this inaction, vast majority of people do not know the hard facts. Some meat eaters (or meat proponents) even go as far as saying that their culture and religion "requires" the sacrifice of some animal at certain dates. Oh puhleeezzz... What a load of bull crap. Your religion and God is obviously very cruel if what you say is true. I also know of some people who are so righteous that they just insist on taking their meat... right up to the point when their health starts deteriorating to a danger level.

I'm not saying that we should all go veg. What I'm saying is that we do not need that much meat. We should be eating less meat and more veg anyway. but the prevalent eastern and western cultures are heavy on meat and that's what we should be changing.

I can go on about the meat industry but I'll stop here.

Next lets have a look at the energy industry. Do you know that in the 20th century, we already had the technology to produce electric cars that are so environmentally friendly and yet powerful? This technology was already invented in the early or mid 20th century. The trial runs were full of promises but the cars were on loan i.e. they users can use them during the trial run period (contractually binding) of a few years but cannot purchase the cars. However, upon completion of the contract period, for some reason unbeknownst to all, the cars were recalled and destroyed. Yes... destroyed. This despite the users asking for the motor companies to sell them those cars. Why is that? Intense lobbying from the petroleum industry.

The Middle East has intense sunlight for months every year. We have the technology to build many solar panels there that can power the entire earth. But do we do that? No.. they build expensive real estates and continue to pump oil from the ground.

The list truly goes on and on.

But the bottom line is that we have ALL the resources that we will ever need. The Earth is Abundant in natural resources and there is more than enough to go around for all of us. It is the selfish greed of select group of humans (and their corporations) that keeps us at this dire strait thinking that there is a lack in resources.

Dumb Egoistic People who just want to be right

Most of us would know of people who will stick to their guns come what may. To us they are like soooo stubborn or just persistent or just plain egoistic.

It is said that the difference between stubbornness and persistence is success. If a person continues plodding along after many others have failed... well... if he succeeds, then people look at him as someone persistent. If he fails, then they say, he is so stubborn.

But what about those who just want to be right? What are they then?

Honestly, I also don't know. But let's look at an example:

Say someone, who really don't have anything going for him/her just want to be right about anything he/she says.

If, say, a seer (or sage etc) advices that it would be good for him/her to do something or go somewhere etc etc.

And originally, he/she had toyed with the idea also. But because the advice came from someone he/she does not like, he/she now discards that advice and decides that come what may, he/she will never go down that path.

And to the extent that he/she will look for evidence or reasons or purposely create events to support his/her decision not to take that advice.

Weird huh... But there are weird people like this. Talk about self sabotage.

Well.. It is their free will to choose to self sabotage themselves. However, I think they should seriously look at themselves in the mirror and ask what are they creating for themselves or their family?

The "unexplainable" unreasonable dumb path they are choosing will ultimately destroy themselves only. There is only so much their families can take. This is the 21st century. No spouse is going to stick around and let you throw your egoistic self sabotaging attitude around for long. So chances are, the spouse would eventually desert him/her as their spouse free will would say, "I'm not going to suffer because of this person".

Sigh.. I hope these people wake up soon... For their own sakes.

What we do is sooo loud, people don't hear what we say

This is another topic I really like to talk about but have postponed and postponed... yes, I'm guilty of procrastination :-)

I know of a few very "advanced spiritual" people who... well... I like to jokingly call it "chasing Rimpoches". Not meant in any bad taste of course :-)

But somehow... I don't know... because they themselves are very advanced (they are also powerful magicians), they seem to also expect the Rimpoches to give them "special treatment". And when they don't get that "special treatment", they get pissed off and, well, I heard they have even dismissed some Rimpoches as "not high enough". I can't verify this claim of course. What I also heard is that they also get pissed when Rimpoches do not teach them certain spiritual techniques or higher techniques that they seek.

Well... I'm a layman. But that kind of attitude is akin to Aesop's "the fox and the grapes" don't you think so?

To me, as you go higher, you should be more humble. This applies to all aspect of life. Even wealth and success. Truly successful people are people who are humble. They may demand the best quality but they do not forget their humility. Same applies to spirituality. The higher the Guru, the more humble he/she is.

In my humble opinion, the obvious lesson they have to learn is humility. When they finally learn that, that's when the higher teachings open up for them. Otherwise, it will remain hidden from them and in some cases, it may even be a case of "so near yet so far" i.e. you can see it, you know it is there, but you just can't get access to it. That is like the ultimate whatever you want to call it. [sigh].

And the thing is this... everyone around them is watching them. So on one hand they may preach certain philosophy but on the other hand, their actions are not congruent with what they preach. People will eventually have questions... [sigh]

Just my two cents

Seeking refuge with like minded people

Things seem to be happening so fast this year. And it's only 17 days into the new year. Whooohh...

My soul searching or inward search of myself resulted in me wanting to write like crazy anything that comes to mind.

I've also noticed that any event can all of a sudden create in me the urge to write.

And it is strange how this all started. Reflecting back, I realize that it came from a close friend Stephen Koh. He suddenly went on a Facebook spree and I have been getting some small urges to write something and so I took the bait and geez... Funny how the universe works.

Hmm...I must be going nuts. But that's what I am experiencing.

Never knew this part of me before all this.

Lately also I've been getting the urge to go into the company of like minded people. To draw strength from and maintain my sanity.

It really is reassuring to know that I am not alone in this experience and that there are like minded "crazy" people around also. The path can be lonely... Ah... Those words ring true.

The urge to write and write till Kingdom come

Lately I have been having urges to just write and write and write... That's why I just pen my thoughts down as they come.

I didn't expect nor do I think anybody would read what I wrote. You can after all set Facebook to turn off certain post if you don't want to be bothered.

But lo and surprise... Some people have told me (outside of facebook) that they read though they never commented. I was quite taken a back. Basically they read and went "duh" with blank look aka blew over their heads.. lol

You see... I care not who reads it or if anybody reads it at all. It is just my avenue for expressing my thoughts out loud, more for myself, to maintain my sanity maybe :-)

So I think I need to clarify certain things here.

If somebody reads it and it just goes over their head and they go "duh" that's fine. Something would still be implanted and in the future who knows, something may happen and you may reflect back... And you know what they say, "when the student is ready the teacher will appear." :-)

If reading helps anyone take anything positive out of it, great... I'm glad it has some impact though I never intend it that way.

If it is negative well... Tough luck dude. Not meant to ruffle your feathers. But if something I wrote touches a raw nerve in you, it usually means you've got an issue within yourself that you need to address. My writings are just the event or catalyst. So you then have an option to look within and perhaps do something and thus grow your context.

Of course it is also your free will to discard it. They are, after all, my opinions only (though I must say, I stand by it until proven wrong). You can just discard it and move on.

If reading it inspired you to comment, by all means, I am willing to accommodate and we can both grow our context together.

So hope this helps.

If you know for sure you cannot fail

If you knew nothing can stand in your way, what would you attempt to achieve?

Sounds like one of those motivational speakers' questions right?

But really, if you truly truly know this, what would you do?

If I recall correctly, Chinese Fengshui says there are 3 parts to a person's destiny: 1)heaven; 2)earth; & 3)personal.

Indian or Vedic astrology also has something similar I think.

So, in essence, nobody is created equal, in a certain sense. But of course, this is something that's not cast in stone. Meaning a person's free will does play a part.

Look at those HK celebrities and you can see all that Fengshui come to play.

But for us ordinary folks, we normally don't have a lot of excess moolah to change certain "characteristics" like those celebs.

But say we find out that in our charts, we cannot fail. What would we do then? Say for example: your charts say "you are here to create anything u want to create... Anything... And it shall be done... Nothing can stand in your way except yourself..."

Wah! Like give you open cheque book.

What would you do?

I think there are 2 sides of it. At one side, it's like an open cheque book or blank piece of paper so to speak. And you just "draw" the life that your mind can fathom. You'll be limited only by your imagination or even your context.

On the other side however, while it is an open cheque book, danger lurkes though you may not be effected. Since you may then know that nothing can stand in the way of your vision, it's easy then to fall onto the dark side. Especially if you are on the spiritual path.

Sounds like Darth Vader in real life huh?

I don't know if I am making sense but that's what's on my mind now.

Reflections on our achievements as a race

Have u ever looked out a window onto the bursting metropolis in awe from a tall building?

I'm sure most of us living in the cities have.

Just a moment of reflection...

It's amazing the amount of advancement we have achieved this few decades.. From our grandparent's time to our parent's time and now to ours.

Just reflect on the "progress" we have achieved, the "evolution" of humanity. It just boggles the mind at what we have created.

Well, if we have but did not think much about it.. It's ok, just take a moment to reflect back or take note the next time u are there and bask it all in.

Who do we spend most of our time with?

It is said that you have to look at where you say you want to be and then look at the people whom you spend most of your time with.

If they are at where you want to be (or aspire to be) then, by all means, stick with them

On the other hand, if they are not, or worst, they are where you don't want to be, then you need to re-evaluate your place with them.

Like attract like. If u aspire to a higher plane but you are surrounded by ppl on lower plane, it is very difficult to fly. In fact, it is likely that u will be pulled down.

The reverse is true if u are surrounded by ppl on a higher plane that u aspire to be at. They will inadvertently pull you up.

But of course, in every instance there is free will. You can choose to stick around lower plane while aspiring for a higher plane (like a Boddhisattva). But it's gonna be tough.
This applies to all aspects of life. In fact if moving away from the group you r with (eg: extended family) is difficult, then u jolly well need to tie up with a higher group so that u remain charged in order to climb, coz the lower group is gonna keep pulling u down and sucking u dry

Setting Goals

It's easy to set a goal and achieve it. If that is difficult then you've got a serious problem that u need to address in u.

However, how do u really know that that goal is what u really, and I mean really want. That is the difficult part. Soul searching. If u achieve a goal and still feel empty after that, then it probably means that goal was mundane...some inner searching is required.

Just thinking out loud

How many of us stop to check in with ourselves?

I wonder how many of us actually stop what we are doing, take a look around, check in with ourselves if this is what we want, I'd where we have gotten ourselves to is what we really wanted... And well, maybe re-evaluate, or take stock, or measure our journey etc etc etc.

I think most of us just go thru life like an automation...day in day out... Without questioning our existence. And before we know it, it's too late... We've got one foot in the grave already.
