Have anyone wondered the possibility that there has been great misinterpretations and misunderstanding between eastern religion and western religions?
Example of misinterpretation: When practitioners of eastern religions put their hand together, kneel and bow to the guru, statue of buddha (or any other deity) or whatever, are they praying? They are not. Its supposed to be an act of reverence and humility before the teacher that you as a student are ready to receive the teacher's teachings and wisdom. But when the west met the east, coupled with language and communication barriers (i.e. chicken and duck talking), they mistook it for praying like how one prays to god. It also did not make matters any better when the east took on that mis-interpretation when they adopted the west's language and medium of communication. So now, we "pray" to buddha, deity or guru. Nothing is further from the truth here.
Note: to put it in simple terms, some western monotheism religion involve praying to Jesus as GOD or the path to GOD. Again, this is a mis-interpretation. Never once did he say that he is GOD or the "gatekeeper" to GOD. But this is a subject for future writing... cheers.
